Should it be one of my own books?
One of my friends?
Or one of the many rare, even autographed books by authors I [...]

Don’t post it. Then it will have been viewed by people, and thus harder to sell. You can have some friends proofread it, but don’t put it in such a public place as the internet.

Call it a book after it’s over 100 pages.

You know what you could do.. post pieces of ur chapters that kinda lead up to the climax.. not too much because then noone will buy it or be interested.. but if they see pieces then they’ll be more inclined to come back for more and get it when ur finished. Um.. to protect ur book you should actually contact a publisher’s office and tell them your info and the book title so noone can steal it.. that way when ur finished you can start selling and make some mulah
good luck.. if you do post anything on ur book.. ill check it out. I wrote a story of my own but it was just a beginner.10chptrs. I love to write.

Post all that you want, but any idiot knows that there will be someone out there to screw you over…where do you think spam and viruses came from. Follow a format and that will protect you from plagarisms. Look the rudimentary rules of grammar. If your novel is under a publisher, then consider using an official page. Your first resort should be physical word of mouth. As a matter of fact, only tell people that you truly know. Keep subject matter under a tight lid until it is published.

If you think it is that good..send several pages by registered mail to yourself, hence stamped and dated in your own writing and signature..Personally..I’d try and an agent..Good Luck!

If you want to protect it, the last thing you should do is post it.
